New Moon - August 2020

Summer is upon us...

...and wherever you are we hope despite the travel restrictions and regulations it has been a good one so far ;) We're slowly getting used to the new reality with art fairs on the horizon such as the Gallery Weekend Berlin and Vienna Contemporary ( 24.- 27. Sept.) - who will be there? We will be there!! - and the new normal of face masks at the supermarket, time slots at the public pool and socially distanced dance gatherings ( sure we have those in Berlin, with masks and face shields, outside and limited in capacity...Berlin will never stop dancing ;) This month we'll have three events on the cal. Online we'll hear from the ladies at Art Fix how they made it their mission to make art more accessible through online videos and well meet with Abhinit R. Khanna an arts manager, writer, researcher, and creator of #artworldmemes.Offline -  in Berlin - we'd love to buy you a beer on the occasion of Gallery Weekend  (the postponed edition ;) and take a breather in the sun (fingers crossed) between shows. Also, we'd love to remind you to fill out the form for the member directory ( link below). ART FIX

This month we'll get together with our friends at Art Fix and discuss launching a business mid-pandemic, why some artworks need explaining and how we need to get better as an artworld to change towards a more inclusive version for everyone.In their own words: Art Fix is an online art course. Our mission is to make contemporary art accessible and exciting to all, showing that behind every great artwork is a great story. Every month we’ll give you a themed episode that will reveal insider art stories and secrets. From sculptures to VR, to Black females and conceptual art: there’s an episode for everyone. 

What's bringing us joy this month...

Being Silly. just really silly. 

Somewhere between "I-give-up-this-is-all-too-much" and "get-yourself-together-check-your-privilege" we found that there is a realm of peace that we can all access.Whether it's playing like you never do ( cause time, and white linen pants and a gazillion other reasons) with your dog, getting on that swing set you sometimes walk past, smoking a bit of weed and giggling with your girlfriends or playing dress up and laughing at yourself...it helps. Also trying something you've never done and failing hard can be delightfully funny. Still struggling but enjoying the hell out of embroidery over here. But it definitely looks like the funniest Instagram fails, also google that and laugh at other people's attempt of baking or crafting adventures...Be silly! Be carefree. For a moment. You deserve it. This year is a lot!
