New Moon - July 2020

I took a weekend off. And while we cannot get lazy at all, especially this year, with everything that has been going on ... it was so utterly necessary. And I urge you to do the same. Surround yourself with people you love, and in whose company you get to be you.We are all holding it together these days in matters large or small, in the face of jobs lost, the art world as we know it gone, friends saddened by the continued restrictions of our social interactions and so many different situations requiring us to be strong. So find the one person, the dog, cat, the good friend (and books can be friends too, don't we know it ;), buy a watermelon and leave the phone at home for once and sit by a lake, or take a hike, or ride a train...Love,Cordelia, Maja & The HOUSE Girls

Friends, that's what the stars say this month- New Moon, July 20th

The New Moon in Cancer is our first luminary after the close of an intense Eclipse season. Your emotional landscape may closely resemble a rollercoaster ride so be kind to yourself and focus on your own well being. Indulge in anything related to self care, nourishment, and your domestic life. Dress your nest! Are you feeling stagnant? Change up your artwork and move around the furniture to create a new energetic flow. Keep trying out those new recipes and if you are itching for a new hobby, give gardening a try!By Sarah Potter

Damjanski

Damjanski is a contemporary Yugoslavian artist living in a browser. Concerned with themes of power, poetry and participation, he integrates field research into an exploration of illogical connections in everyday life. "Someone came by and asked me why? I answered why not? The person looked at me confused which made me a little worried and I so also became confused." Born in Sarajevo (B&H), he grew up in Hamburg amongst everything topical and is now based in New York. Searching for decision spots of wonder and unlearning his conceptual work draws on the idea of the collective. "We kept staring at each other for quite a while. Then I thought of talking about my continuing investigation of black box approaches in our everyday lives." Damjanski is a co-founder and member of the artist collective Do Something Good, which focuses on realizing interactive experiences that arise at the cross section of art and technology. In 2018, he launched, together with David Lobser, the MoMAR art project, a gallery concept aimed at democratizing physical exhibition spaces, art institutions and curatorial processes within New York’s Museum of Modern Art. His interactive installations, browser based art, and web-based applications deploy solutionism to unveil screen structures of the present. In July 2019, his latest piece “Bye Bye Camera”, a camera application for the post-human era which erases human motifs from everyday photography, was published. "Suddenly, I felt less confused. Yet, I was still staring.".

What's bringing us joy this month...

Jane. Jane fucking Fonda. Her workouts and the so-called Light Aerobics and Stress Reduction Program, her activism  (be brave and get arrested :), her CBD. She's got a lot of things right this life ... and maybe - critically - rewatch barefoot in the park

❤️This month because its almost August and we all done so bloody well, it's swimsuit treat time!We raffle out 3 swimsuits by our friends over at Ookiohhttps://ookioh.com/And amazingly this is how they are made: "Our fabric is sourced from an Italian mill and made from 100% regenerated materials. What does that actually mean? The mill takes ocean wastes (such as sunken fishing nets) and pre-consumer waste products (things people might throw away in production) and turns them into dreamy, luxurious textiles." Send us a email to [email protected] and we'll sort out sizing, color, and whatnot directly!
