Member Love Alexis Gaelle Bad Girls at wallspacepleasemore news coming soon!!!

Bad Girls is a curated showcase of female artists that ‘misbehave’, especially according to local standards. The exhibition is inspired by artist M.I.A.’s music video of 2012, as well as the New Museum’s famous 1994 exhibition which presented the work of 45 artists who confront gender, race, class, and age issues by questioning methods of visual representation while promoting the subversive acuteness “bad girls” use to challenge traditional concepts. Female artists are still severely underrepresented in the GCC region, particularly when their work is a bit more conceptual or controversial. Through this first edition, WALLSPACEPLEASE aims to create an impact on cultural tendencies by accentuating women empowerment across the globe. The list of 35 female artists that will be exhibited (some for sale/ consigned by galleries, others not for sale) is very exciting: Arghavan Khosravi, Cristina BanBan, Cristina de Miguel, Deana Lawson, Dominique Fung, Donna Huanca, Elizabeth Glaessner, GaHee Park, Genesis Belanger, Giulia Andreani, Issy Wood, Jenna Gribbon, Jess Valice, Jessica Westhafer, Jessie Makinson, Joyce Pensato, Kara Joslyn, Kate Pincus-Whitney, Katharina Grosse, Kathleen Ryan, Katja Seib, Lily Wong, Lucy Bull, Marley Freeman, Miriam Cahn, Mona Broschar, Nikki Maloof, Portia Munson, Rebecca Ness, Samantha Rosenwald, Shona McAndrew, Solange Pessoa, Yayoi Kusama, Zandile Tshabalala, Zoe Blue M.
