...hope everyone is feeling great! This week we got ART DUBAI on the calendar and are all a bit mournful that travel is for most of us a vague idea but not exactly a reality :) We will get there again soon enough. For those of you in Dubai enjoy a coffee and a chat with our Head of the HOUSE Dubai Aleksei before heading out to do some arting. Us homebound gals and guys will hopefully see each other for a silent coworking session on Tuesday ( we will briefly say hi, then all mute but it's nice to see all these others out there in the world), we will hear from Cat Ponti and Denia on Insta Live on Tuesday, then learn the ins and outs of auctions from the amazing Jacqueline on Thursday and those in Berlin could hop over to Studio4Berlin for a stunning show spanning pre-Columbian to contemporary art and design. Happiest Monday to you all!Love, Cordelia, Maja & the Girls

Auctions. They are a big part of the art market, but what again is a "reserve", what is a "hammer price" and how does it work to place a work in an auction?

Jacqueline Towers-Perkins will talk to us about how she became the woman with the gravel, how auctions function and generally answer your questions.

In its current exhibition INTERIOR — Chapter I, STUDIO 4 BERLIN creates an extraordinary living-room situation, this time relying on interior design. The focus is on furniture and objects by the well-acclaimed design label freistil ROLF BENZ. The exhibition space is transformed into a vibrant interior in which contemporary art, photography, and antiques take on an equally important role. The designer furniture meets a triptych by the Berlin- and Cairo-based artist Ahmed Kamel and works by Henrik Eiben, Clara Brörmann or Laurence Egloff. Pre-Columbian ceramics join a painting by the South Korean artist Ouhi Cha, photography by Yotam Shwartz as well as Japanese wood prints from the 18th century. A large Persian kilim and an abstracted mirror relief by Berlin artist Dieter Detzner define the space. In this evening practice, we will unwind from the day by removing stagnant energy or blockages from sitting for too long, moving through an energetic yang sequence. We will then transition into a calmer yin sequence, preparing the body for the transition from day to night.
