House of LONDONVIP Collector's Preview at Kovet.Art at Photo London 2021 Somerset House Wednesday 8th September, 2021 6.45pmcontact London Head of HOUSE Peigi at [email protected]
Kovet.Art kindly welcomes The Art Gorgeous House members to their booth D09 in the Discovery Section at Photo London which is dedicated to the most exciting emerging galleries and artists. They are delighted to extend a complimentary pass for the preview night to Art Gorgeous House Members. Limited tickets available. We recommend social distancing and wearing of masks inside the booth.
This year Kovet.Art present an engaging series of in person performances and talks as a part of the Official Photo London VIP and Public Programme.
Please join us at the booth at 6.45pm to preview their work on view and enjoy the performance led by Anna-Lena Krause's : How to Turn Knots into Bows. This is a 10 minute performance from 7:15pm-7:25pm BST. Please arrive at the Kovet.Art booth 10 minutes before the start of the event at 7.05 pm.
About the performance: How to Turn Knots into BowsEvery person is both real and imagined. The shifting intersubjective dynamic between space we find ourselves in, is a space of differences and similarities, of back and forth exchanges of feelings, gestures, and views. The riddle of the other is echoed by the riddle of the self. / How To Turn Knots Into Bows / The performance blurs the lines between us by visualising diverse point of views in a shared experience, positioning the viewer in-between, asking how fixed the boundaries separating us truly are.
This is a group performance which documents the unique first person point of view through a device strapped to each performer's forehead.
After the performance you are then welcome to explore the fair at your own pace with the other Art Gorgeous House members. We will send you a Kovet.Art curator's pick of the top 6 gallery booths to include in your suggested itinerary to preview, prior to the VIP Preview night next week. The fair closes at 9.15pm.

House of BerlinHR Giger & Mire LeeSchinkel PavillionOPENING
* Join us for drinks & music on our terrace *
17.09.2021, 6-9pm
no RSVP necessary :)
The exhibition HR Giger & Mire Lee brings together the sculptures, early paintings, drawings and private diaries of the late Swiss visionary HR Giger (1940-2014) – creator of the iconic Alien in the movie of the same name – alongside site-specific kinetic installations by the South Korean artist Mire Lee (*1988). The darkly surrealist, erotic visions and grotesque mutant-like figures depicted in Giger’s works coalesce with Lee’s forms, which are at the same time seductive and repulsive, evoking dysfunctional organisms, dissected body parts and umbilical cords. The Schinkel Pavillon turns into a womb-like cell where the darkest aisles of the human body and psyche are explored. Image Captions: HR Giger, Hommage à S. Argentina Member Love Alert BienalSur Arte Km 52: Vanishing point September 9 to November 27
Centro de Arte de la Universidad de la Plata, La Plata, Buenos Aires,
Member Sève Favre (insta: @sevefavre) was selected for the Bienalsur. Exacerbated in recent decades, the persistence of migratory processes highlights unresolved problems both in terms of international politics and individual and collective experiences. And yet, over the last two years, which have been marked by a global pandemic that the mass media have been covering with relish, the "stay home" policy adopted in both hemispheres seems to have obliterated the persistence of the problem, reinforcing inequalities and erasing this social phenomenon from the collective imaginary. The continuity and the urgency of this contemporary issue has been underscored by the proposals of the various artists in this exhibition, thus contributing to tearing up the veil imposed on the gaze: territorial limits can be dislocated at will, while deserted, almost phantasmagorical border posts stand in contrast to those images that highlight the limitation on and control of the movement of groups of women, men and children in search of a place to settle down and live. Meanwhile, some seemingly solid structures reveal the permanent search for a longed-for settlement. The tension between dreams, wishes and reality becomes an object (stone, bundle, house); and in this materialisation filled with memories and life projects, the present, the past and the future of each human being are challenged. In a world fraught with wires and walls that separate individuals, families and peoples, this exhibition aims to address the problem of contemporary movements and migrations from a sensitive perspective that once again proposes a critical reflection on a subject that involves and affects humanity as a whole.
