2022 - Week 4

Lovely members, woohooo. We are in the fourth week of this new year! We are proud of us all that we did it! We showed up and while a lot is still uncertain and up in the air, we are all doing our best to grab this year with the very best intentions. With the first fairs already announcing postponements ( from Art Geneve to Salon de Mobile) it's gonna be another one to keep us on our toes. But fret not, we got each others backs and will make the very best of it as we always do. Let us know if you need anything! We're here to connect you with the right people or help you figure stuff out. IRL Events are happening in London and Paris: who loves vintage cars and a fun auction, RSVP soon, its obv. limited capacity! And also NYC has scheduled it's next outing. And then for us global folks, let's get together to envision 2022 on the occasion of Chinese New Year. The wonderful HOUSE member ia will guide us through a vision board session and those that were around for the last one know, she is grand at teaching us little techniques and coaxing your inner collage artist out!Much Love, stay sane! Cordelia, Maja & the Girls

HOUSE of LondonPAUSE by Lydia Smith1 - 10 February 202212 - 6pmPrivate View: 6-8.30 pm 2 February 2022

Smith’s work is a conversation between the digital and the physical worlds. From her hands to software to her mind, and then back to her hands; a three-way dialogue starts to unfold. Her finished works are a balanced expression of this relationship. Their complex simplicity serves as a break of consciousness to the viewer. A stop and a pause. Throughout this dialogue her mind is imagining our future as beings, both our spiritual and Avatar selves. She believes sculpture is physicality which grounds us between these two worlds. Sculpture commands space. It forces the air (real or immersive) to move and flow around it. To close her residency Lydia will be showing her work in an exhibition.

HOUSE of NYCJames Cohan GalleryA TravésSaturday Feb 19,11am -12pmplease due to limited capacityRSVP Head of HOUSE: [email protected]

Collectively and individually, we pass through thresholds, periods of transitions, and states of indeterminacy in life. In the middle stage between birth and death, there is a “cloud of unknowing,” the Romantic idea of a psychic space with no boundaries; at once freeing and equally anxiety-provoking. If ever there was a time when ambiguity and disorientation are shared sensations, it is now. This exhibition is a meditation on this transitory state. Through performance, sculpture, painting, photography and film, the artists presented offer glimpses into these subconscious states as they play out in figuration.
