Lovely members, hope everyone is feeling great and the year is off to a great start! Today starts an international conference hosted by the Belvedere in Vienna with speakers from Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, The Asia Archive, and obviously the Belvedere themselves. The Belvedere Research Center is continuing its conference series on the digital transformation of art museums with its fourth event on the topic. The COVID-19 pandemic, and our resultant inability to experience proximity to people and objects, has given the matter additional “virulence” in museums. Although the topic of digitization was gaining ground before the pandemic, the measures taken against the virus created a very special experimental arrangement in which the digital presence of museums was no longer merely a possible extension of exhibition spaces but rather the only way to reach the public. While the focus of our 2021 conference explored the premise of a crisis-induced return to the museum’s own collections, this time it shifts to questions beyond binary concepts, such as media specificity, hybridity, and mixed reality. In five thematic blocks, the lectures of the online conference by international experts deal with how the digital and the analog can be productively, conceptually, and aesthetically interwoven in a museum setting.

1 hour vinyasa yoga with EllaLanguage: EnglishLet's start the new year, by deepening our connection with ourselves and strengthening ourselves for whatever comes next. Ella will be teaching Vinyasa Yoga and she will make a class that is accessible to everyone. A bit of movement and sweating but also a lot of relaxation - so a good mix after which everyone hopefully feels relaxed but also energized. What the yogis need: a yoga mat, sportswear, and something to drink. No extra accessories. Liability / Safety first: 

You understand that yoga classes may be physically strenuous. As is the case with any physical activity, the risk of injury, even serious or disabling, is always present and cannot be entirely eliminated. 

You acknowledge that an online yoga class is different from participating in a class in a teacher’s physical presence. When practicing from home, you accept full responsibility for your space and the health and safety precautions within such space. You agree to follow the teacher’s instructions carefully and to progress at your own pace. If you experience any pain or discomfort, you will carefully stop and rest before continuing the practice. Whilst practicing online, you understand that with your camera on, you are visible to the teacher and other attendees who are in the online space. 

By participating in any classes, you affirm that your health and fitness levels are sufficient to participate in the classes, or that you have sought medical advice regarding your fitness and readiness to practice yoga prior to participating in the classes. If you are pregnant, become pregnant or you are post-natal or post-surgical, you affirm that you have your doctor's approval to participate. You agree to inform the teacher of your pregnancy.

You affirm that you are participating voluntarily. You alone are responsible to decide whether to practice yoga and participation is at your own risk. You hereby agree to irrevocably release and waive any claims that you have now or may have in the future against the teacher. By participating in any class or accessing the online material you agree to the terms and conditions above.

We love a good vision boarding session and our wonderful ia will guide us through. Bring old magazines, scissors and a sheet of paper to stick your creation on.  We will spend the hour learning how to go about it and getting started. No need to rush, you will finish on your own time. For those in Europe: use your lunch break for some crafting for those in Asia get your 2022 Year of the Tiger on, in preparation for the holidays.

Surreal environment encourages visitors to pause, reflect and remember their dreams

“I envision ‘Remember your dreams’ as a sculpture to be lived in and to be experienced by many. Therefore, I am beyond excited to be bringing the installation to a city I have heard so much about and have been always keen on exploring, so it continues to awaken the child in all of us. Following a time when in-person art experiences and human interactions have been in short supply, this feels even more special,” said artist Cyril Lancelin on the artwork making its first stop in Asia.

Porsche is commissioning several works of art on the subject of dreams as part of its The Art of Dreams exhibitions with the aim of inspiring people, conveying optimism and contributing to lively communities.

The exhibition series will be making an appearance in a number of cultural capitals. The next stop for The Art of Dreams will be a public exhibition in Milan coinciding with the Salone del Mobile in April 2022.
