✨ Art Girl Fax - What to See While the World Slows Down 🐌✨
Your weekly art world cheat sheet

A WEEKLY WRAP UP OF ART, FASHION AND POP CULTURE
Welcome to the Friday Art Girl Fax newsletter, where we explore the intersection of art, fashion, and pop culture.
After a week of deadlines, meetings, and studio visits, this is what you deserve: fresh highlights, unexpected gems, and the stories shaping the week.
Hugs and stay sane,
The Girls
🪑 BIANCA CENSORI’S FURNITURE ERA
Designer, muse, performance artist? Bianca Censori has unveiled a furniture collection in Seoul as part of Bio Pop, tables and chairs made from (or inspired by) crutches, complete with latex-clad models folded into them like living sculptures. She calls it “a self-portrait in constraint” and declares that “domesticity is the mother of all revolutions.” The internet, meanwhile, is whispering Allen Jones reference… or copy? Make of that what you will.
🎧 PERFORMANCE ART, BUT MAKE IT POLITICS
Ahead of his NYC mayoral inauguration, Zohran Mamdani staged a 12-hour listening marathon at MoMI in Queens. Titled The Mayor Is Listening, the piece borrowed a page straight out of Marina Abramović’s playbook, with New Yorkers booking three-minute, one-on-one slots to share their dreams, their worries, and the change they want to see across New York.
🏠 JW ANDERSON GOES FULL HOMEBODY
Jonathan Anderson has opened his first JW Anderson homeware-only flagship on Pimlico Road, London. Think Irish pottery, Murano glass, Welsh blankets and hand-dyed textiles, all housed in a space that feels more like an artist’s studio than a shop. It’s a clear pivot away from hype fashion and towards slow luxury, craft, and objects you’ll actually live with. In keeping with both the ethos of the brand and the spirit of its new environment, there is an emphasis on art.
🧵 HERMÈS, DOING WHAT HERMÈS DOES BEST
Hermès commissioned 78 artists this year under the theme Drawn to Craft, and it shows. At a time when many brands are increasingly relying on AI, this level of commitment to makers, skill and long-term thinking feels like a genuine win.
🔮 PINTEREST PREDICTS 2026 (BRACE YOURSELVES)
According to Pinterest, trends are moving 4.5 times faster than they were seven years ago, which goes a long way in explaining the collective sense of fatigue. Their 2026 forecast spans fashion, beauty and culture, calling out everything from circuscore and forest floor aesthetics to lace-everything, brooches, cool blues and khaki-coded palettes, alongside glitchy glam, opera core, vamp romantic and even a gummy-inspired look. Fun? Absolutely. Sustainable for your nervous system, or the planet? That’s far more debatable.
And with that, we’re signing off for the year. Wishing all our readers a very happy festive season, whether you’re switching off, gallery-hopping, or simply embracing a slower pace. We’ll be back from our own holidays on 5 January, refreshed and ready for more art, fashion and cultural rabbit holes.✨
💥 PARTNER SPOTLIGHT - STUDIO J.E.D. 💥
Powered by Studio J.E.D.
We are excited to team up with Studio J.E.D. for this Art Girl Fax issue. Studio J.E.D. was founded in early 2025 when ceramic artist Jen Dwyer moved from rural Connecticut to move in with her them boyfriend and soon to be husband Brooklyn. In a tiny apartment under the rumble of the Bushwick train, surrounded by moving boxes and uninspiring Amazon lamps she asked herself a life-changing question: “What if I made the lighting I wish existed?”. The next day she began sculpting soft, organic, deeply handmade ceramic lighting meant to bring calm and beauty into everyday spaces. Only a couple of months after creating her first piece — the now-beloved Kusama Lamp — Dwyer was invited into a group exhibition at Bergdorf Goodman, curated by Natasha Roberts where most of her lamps sold out repeatedly. The momentum set the foundation for a growing collectible lighting studio grounded in craftsmanship, texture, and sculptural design. Working from her Brooklyn studio, Dwyer is now developing her second collection and preparing for her upcoming exhibition at ICFF in May 2026 and if you like to get an idea of her work (and the iconic lamps….), find more info here.
