Welcome to the Friday Weekly Wrap-Up newsletter, where we explore the intersection of Art, Fashion, and Pop Culture.Hugs and stay sane,The Girls
1. Sleepover at the National Gallery? Yes, Really

London’s National Gallery is offering one lucky winner the chance to spend the night inside the museum. You’ll get an exclusive first look at CC Land: The Wonder of Art, plus the full rehang of the gallery’s collection. The overnight stay will take place on the bridge linking the newly refurbished Sainsbury Wing to the rest of the gallery and even includes a breakfast in bed!
2. Milan Design Week Highlights

Milan Design Week has expanded well beyond furniture, and this year’s highlights are as creative as ever. Standouts include Marimekko x Gohar World, Miu Miu’s Literary Library, Prada’s Frames in Transit, Louis Vuitton’s homeware, Loewe’s teapots, Versace’s The Art of Living, High Snobiety’s takeover of Bar Basso, .and Acqua di Parma’s AI-designed coffee machine. Design never looked so good.
3. Art Market 2024: Key Insights

The latest Art Basel and UBS report shows the art market facing “geopolitical tensions, economic pressures, and shifting buyer behaviours.” Sales were down overall, but the number of volume increased. Online sales stayed steady, smaller dealers saw gains, and the UK reclaimed second place in the global art market. Women artists made progress, but equality remains a goal.

4. Porcelain and Power at The Met

The Met’s new show, Monstrous Beauty, rethinks Chinoiserie through a feminist lens, exploring how imported porcelain shaped both European and Asian women’s identities. With nearly 200 works, from the 16th century to now, the exhibition reframes this aesthetic tradition with sharp critical insight. On view until 17 August 2025.
