2. Sotheby’s Launches futuristic Maison in Hong Kong

@Sotheby’s has unveiled its innovative Maison in Hong Kong’s Central district, a project long envisioned by Nathan Drahi, Managing Director of Sotheby’s Asia. “We envision this state-of-the-art space in Hong Kong to be the epicentre of culture for global visitors—a destination where generations of art and culture enthusiasts engage with and be inspired by extraordinary objects and experiences,” Drahi stated. MVRDV designed the transformative space to blend luxury retail with a museum-like experience across a 24,000-square-foot, two-story building at Landmark Chater. Visitors enter through a unique street-level portal and are led on an immersive journey, starting with a geologically inspired staircase. The venue features seven distinct salons offering everything from fossils to fine art.
