1. First Official Portrait of King Charles III Unveiled at Buckingham Palace

The first official painted portrait of King Charles III since his coronation has been revealed at Buckingham Palace. Created by Jonathan Yeo, known for painting the likes of Sir David Attenborough, and Malala Yousafzai, the 8ft by 6ft portrait aims to be distinctive and personal. Yeo incorporated traditional royal elements like the military outfit and sword, but added a modern touch with deep colors and a butterfly.
2. âMeTooâ Tagging of Courbetâs Painting

Gustave Courbetâs âThe Origin of the Worldâ (1866) was marked in thick red with the phrase âMeTooâ during an activist protest at the Centre Pompidou-Metz in France last week. This was part of an action involving five artworks, organized by artist Deborah De Robertis. An embroidered piece by Annette Messager was also snatched from its display. De Robertis previously made headlines in 2014 when she exposed her genitals in front of Courbetâs painting at the MusĂ©e dâOrsay, resulting in her arrest.
3. Venus Williams Launches Art Podcast with Carnegie Museum

Renowned tennis star and passionate art collector Venus Williams is collaborating with the Carnegie Museum of Art to host a podcast on the intersection of the environment and art, aligning with the museumâs forthcoming exhibition, âWidening the Lens: Photography, Ecology, and the Contemporary Landscape.â The six-episode podcast series will launch on June 26th, focusing on pressing environmental themes depicted in contemporary photography.



4. Gucciâs Eco-Brutalist Transformation of Tate Modern for 2025 Cruise Show

This week, Gucci transformed the Tate Modern gallery into an eco-brutalist setting for Sabato De Sarnoâs 2025 Cruise show. With Bureau Betakâs help, they filled the space with over 10,000 plants, creating a blend of modernity and nature that reflects Sabatoâs new direction for the brand. The outfits predominately in Gucciâs signature Rosso color, set against the vibrant greenery, were a standout, alongside the star-studded front row!
