Hello, Gorgeous!

A weekly wrap up of art, fashion and pop culture
Happy Friday Folks! Here is a wrap-up of this week’s bitesize art x fashion x pop culture news for you to digest.Hugs and stay sane,The Girls
1. Vice Media Faces Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

Vice Media, that cool youth-targeted media brand started by Shane Smith 30 years ago in Montreal, just filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in New York. They listed their assets and liabilities somewhere between $500 million to $1 billion. Tough times!
2. Chloe Sevigny’s Epic Wardrobe Sale

Did you hear about Chloe Sevigny’s wardrobe sale? She was getting rid of all her stuff, from never-worn pieces to everyday clothes. She had everything from fancy designer stuff to grungy indie outfits and lots of denim. Whoever managed to snag something from the sale is pretty damn lucky!

3. What’s on at Fotografiska

If you haven’t checked out the Hip-Hop: Conscious, Unconscious exhibition at Fotografiska, New York, you better hurry. It’s only open for one more day. But don’t worry, there’s another amazing exhibit called Listen Until You Hear, featuring artists like Hank Willis Thomas, Cassils, Maia Ruth Lee, Cannupa Hanska Luger, Eric Gottesman, and Kameelah Janan Rasheed, on until October. These artists come from different backgrounds, and together they’re creating a space to think about “visual listening.”

4. New Works by Prominent Artists Celebrate The New Royals

The U.K.’s Government Art Collection has got 9 artists on board, including Cornelia Parker, Dale Lewis, Joy Gerrard, Leslie Thompson, and Vanley Burke, to create new works inspired by the recent coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. These pieces will join the collection and support its public program. Pretty cool way to celebrate the new royals, right?
