1. #WWKD – What Would Katy Perry Do?

Jeremy Scott is stepping down as creative director of Moschino after a decade in the role, the house announced earlier this week. “These past 10 years at Moschino have been a wonderful celebration of creativity and imagination,” said Scott commented to the press. “I am so proud of the legacy I am leaving behind.”

2. Slow Uptake in Visitor Numbers for London’s Museums

Every year, The Art Newspaper conducts a worldwide survey of art museums’ visitor numbers. The data for 2022 shows that London museums have been among the slowest to recover from the pandemic, with the National Gallery losing the most visitors worldwide since 2019. The full report will be published next week on the 27 March.

3. World Photography Awards Winners 2023

Sony and the World Photo organization have revealed the winners of its annual World Photography Awards for 2023. The program began 16 years ago to celebrate photographers of all stages. ⁠Close to half a million images were entered in this year’s competition for the chance for exposure and the cash prize of $25,000 USD. 4. Hong Kong Is Back!

You may have noticed on your social media feeds that the international art crowd is in Hong Kong for the action-packed Art Week. The Art Basel fair is one of the many activities taking place, springing back as Covid restrictions were lifted. This year the art fair hosts 177 galleries, compared with 134 in 2022, but still fewer than before the pandemic.
