1. Buisness Trends for 2023

The Business of Fashion has revealed their three workplace trends that will define 2023. In short, these include retention over recruiting, the new C suite, and addressing blind spots now WFH is the new norm. Read more about the BoF predictions on their website.

2. â€˜Raphia.’

“This is my last show,” Simon Porte Jacquemus announced on his Instagram Stories last week —amidst a stream of fashion heads stepping down. Then the next slide luckily read “of the year.” This prank set the tone for the cheeky show that took place on Monday at Le Bourget airport. Raffia snowed from the ceiling creating a surrealist summer in winter, while models strutted the catwalk in the brand’s signature giant hats. Celebs were out in force for the event, including Pamela Anderson, Mahmoud, and Richie Shazam. The raging after-party took place in the bowels of the Palais de Tokyo, collaborating with Boiler Room – ending at 7am Tuesday morn. 

3. Making of Me

London’s National Portrait Gallery and the Raheem Sterling Foundation – a charity set up by the England and Chelsea footballer to foster social mobility – has launched a new creative youth engagement and skills development programme for 2023 entitled Making of Me. The programme will support 30 young people from London to learn new skills that will help them progress into future creative careers. The programme will consist of 12 workshops and masterclasses, pertaining to themes of self-identity and representation, combining photography and portraiture.

4. Fragile

Following the confirmation of the producing the murals in Ukraine, Banksy has announced the release of 50 new unique screen prints for sale via his Instagram account with all proceeds going directly to the people of Ukraine. In partnership with the Legacy of War Foundation, each print will be signed and numbered and will go for ÂŁ5,000 GBP. More information can be found here.
