1. Simon Porte Jacquemus & Marco Maestri’s Wedding

Love is in the air! A little over a year after their engagement was announced on Instagram, French fashion designer Simon Porte Jacquemus and Marco Maestri tied the knot over the past weekend. The guests at the incredibly chic and intimate wedding in the South of France were actively encouraged to wear the taboo color of white to the nuptials, with most, or perhaps all donning Jacquemus creations. Jacquemus was walked down the aisle by his grandmother, while Maestri arrived in a 50s cream convertible MG with his mother.  Despite the presence of friend and pop star, Dua Lipa, who wore a sheer white dress for the occasion, the couple were serenaded by Jacquemus’s brother/father band. As for the wedding meal, guests dined in Provençal woodlands against a fiery sunset backdrop, and afterward danced alongside the happy couple in a pop-up discotheque. Jacquemus ended the night wearing a wedding gown with a veil – parfait!

2. Frieze Debuts in Seoul

Frieze takes on a whole new continent this fall, debuting in the South Korean capital of Seoul, taking place from today, until 5 September. The art fair will collaborate with local long-player Kiaf, jointly hosting more than 300 galleries and feature special sections for emerging talent and art throughout the ages. The hope is that the collaboration of fairs will revive the East Asia art market which has been hindered by strict Covid-19 rules and bolster the pre-existing art scene in Korea. Local galleries such as TPI, Silverlens Galleries, Taka Ishii Gallery and TKG+ will exhibit alongside Western heavyweights including Hauser & Wirth and Gagosian. 3. Former Friend of Anna Delvey Looking to Sue Netflix

Writer and photographer Rachel DeLoache Williams, who was conned out of money by fake heiress Anna Delvey is suing Netflix over how she was depicted in the hit series ‘Inventing Anna’ based on the scammer’s story. Williams met Delvey in New York while working on the picture desk at Vanity Fair, and swiftly became friends with ‘Sorokin’—who posed as a fake German heiress with a penchant for art. Delvey claimed a net worth of $60m for her supposed exclusive contemporary art space and private club in Manhattan. Williams, who previously told her own side of the story in her book, says scenes in the hit show portrayed her in a false manner, depicting her as “a greedy, snobbish, disloyal, dishonest, cowardly, manipulative and opportunistic person“, according to a new lawsuit. The show’s popularity led to Williams’s becoming “the subject of thousands of such abusive messages” online.

4. A Sticky Situation

Climate activists have been in the news across England and Italy this year, gluing themselves to important historical artworks. Now activists are targeting museums in Germany. This past week, protestors from the Letzte Generation group have attached themselves to four masterpieces including Raphael’s Sistine Madonna (1512-13) in the Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister in Dresden. After the protest, they posted to their Instagram: ‘We are in an unprecedented crisis. The climate catastrophe is likely to kill us if we don’t divert it massively now. Therefore, we interrupt the daily routine – even in art.’
