Hacking the Wild West of Art on the Internet: A conversation on Internet Imperialism with Alex and Gretchen Tuesday - 19 January   5pm GMT/12pm EST/9am PST 

With the near to complete shutdown of physical events in 2020, artists as well as the rest of the art world have been flocking to the internet in order to exhibit and sell work. The art world, traditionally slow to adopt tech, has been at an extreme disadvantage. How to stand out online? The need to 'hack the algorithm' seems like the only way to break through the proverbial noise in this very congested space.In this discussion we will explore how art is discoverable on the internet, search engine optimisation, the role of collectors and museums in the algorithm based experience, who owns this space and who is just playing a part in it.

Conversation with Edoardo Monti (Palazzo Monti) and Erin Kim (Mana Contemporary & Board of Palazzo Monti)  about an ambitious, truly international and inclusive exhibition project realized during crazy pandemic times. Transatlantico - A collaboration between Mana Contemporary and Palazzo Monti,  celebrates two dynamic artist communities, reinforcing the value of cultural exchange across border, region, and experience. The exhibition is curated by Edoardo Monti, founder of the Palazzo Monti residency based in Brescia, Italy.

Each of the show’s 120 artworks represent Palazzo Monti’s extensive alumni network, with a majority of works by artists under the age of thirty—each hailing from their own small corner of the world.

Escape Studios - VFX Taster

hosted by Pearson College London Thursday - 21 January  6 pm (London) 7pm (Berlin) 

A tutor from ESCAPE Studios will provide an introduction to 3D VFX techniques such as creating simple geometry, UV’s, texturing, bump maps, lighting, animation, basic compositing and rendering, as well as an introduction to the CG pipeline and the range of career choices you can aim to specialise in.
