2022 - Week 9

Lovely members, with a heavy heart, we are sitting here wondering what to write. Throughout the many conflicts all over this globe from the US carrying out airstrikes in Somalia last week, to Russia invading Ukraine and every other soul that is hurting, fighting for their lives and hoping for some peace somewhere on this planet, whether we are aware of it or not we send love, hope and clarity. If you know about an aid effort, a platform, an initiative that we should share our platform with, share them via insta or email. We will use our voice to amplify others. There are events coming up. And while it might not feel like going to see a show and carrying on with life on the other hand, it might help to see people, it might help to share the burden or just step away from the screens that in an endless stream transport harrowing images to our homes. And we don't say look away, we just think that sometimes we have to give ourselves a little break in order to renew our efforts. And don't feel bad if you feel like there is nothing you can do right now. We've been through a pandemic. We are all at the end of our resources. Do what you can, but don't forget yourself.  Much Love, stay sane! Cordelia, Maja & the Girls

GLOBAL HOUSEReach out if you need help, reach out if we can use our platform to raise awareness, reach out if you just need someone to talk to.

Global HOUSE #designforpeaceOur friend @atelierannacara started this initiative. Details below.

Before retraining as a designer, I originally studied social sciences and I spent most of my ten year career with a heavy focus on Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. The unfolding humanitarian catastrophe in #Ukraine has assumed very personal dimensions for me. And while I have seen incredible involvement from my former colleagues, who have been working tirelessly to publish articles and raise awareness, I also realised that many creatives have been notably absent. Of course it can be difficult. Many of us are visual communicators and words are not everyone’s forte - but after all, this is about a war that no one wants. Which is why I came up with this:#designforpeaceI am encouraging all creatives to design artworks that can be shared via Instagram. Please use the hashtag #designforpeace. Please feel free to add others, like #standwithukraine or #nomorewar. If you are able create prints or postcards from your artworks, consider selling them via Instagram or your website. Of course original artworks can be sold too.Donate the profits to the following organisations:- The fundraiser for the Kyiv Independent to support independent media in Ukraine https://www.gofundme.com/f/kyivindependent-launch- Genderz is an LGBTQ support network and journalism organisation in Ukraine https://genderz.org.ua/support-us/- Sunflower Of Peace is a local charity gathering medical supplies for paramedics and doctors on the front facebook.com/donate/507886070680475- Ukraine Humanitarian Fund https://crisisrelief.un.org/t/ukraine- The Red Cross in Ukraine https://redcross.org.ua/en/2022/02/donate-to-support-the-ukrainian-red-cross-to-help-civilians-in-this-difficult-time-for-ukraine/Thank you!

HOUSE of LONDONSoho Revue Is excited to announce its support of the RCA work in progress show RAWRoyal College of Art1-4 Walker's Ct.PV [email protected]

RAW This show features painters from the Royal College of Art, exhibiting works that are in-progress, hot off the studio wall, fresh and raw, offering speculative windows into where each artist might go next. As the world finds itself in a moment of profound turbulence, the painters here ask how painting can operate, and what visions of the future it can manifest. Conceptual, material, and technical revolutions are on full display, as well as a deep ethos of the unfinished, all equally emitting contemporary reflections on painting and its spontaneous reckless abandon.  Email [email protected] for more information
